In 2003, USA Truck, Inc. embarked on a tractor purchase plan to modernize its tractor fleet. As of December 31, 2006 the average age of our tractor fleet was 21 months. USA Truck will continue to maintain a modernized fleet in an effort to attract and retain qualified drivers and minimize maintenance expenses.

The standard tractor within USA Truck’s fleet is the International 9400i. USA Truck operates both the Hi-Rise and Sky-Rise model units equipped with a 15.0-liter Cummins ISX engine. Both the Hi-Rise and Sky-Rise units provide 72 inches of clearance from seat to the inside back of the cab and are equipped with air-ride suspensions, anti-lock brakes, power steering and cruise control.  The standard trailer is a 53-foot, 102-inch-wide, air-ride dry-van trailer. As of December 31, 2006 the average age of our trailer fleet was 36 months.  

The tractors are equipped with QUALCOMM communication devices and in-cab e-mail through the used of CabCARD. To aid in fuel conservation, our engines are equipped with idle optimization software. At December 31, 2006, USA Truck, Inc. operated 2,571 tractors and 6,760 van trailers.
