Inclusion…What is it?
Inclusion is being respected, valued, and supported by your organization. It’s about creating a place for each individual to achieve their full potential. Inclusion is the glue that connects all employees to the organization; and encourages collaboration, flexibility, and fairness.
The key: Inclusion is about getting everyone involved.
Why is it important?
Inclusion in the workplace helps a diverse workforce achieve results. Holding inclusion as a principle of our leadership and teamwork promotes the sharing of different perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, thinking and communication styles, which leads to better results. Organizations that make the effort to help underrepresented employees feel seen, heard, valued, and understood, while equipping them with the resources and relationships they need to thrive at work, will grow the business. Having an inclusive organization drives growth, attracts, and retains the best talent, while also creating a path for each employee to thrive.
What is USAT doing with respect to it?
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee is working with our CPO Shauna Jamison and the HR team to provide equitable opportunities at USAT for all employees. We are working on processes that will allocate resources to ensure each employee has the resources to succeed. We are also working on mentorship programs, internships, and training to ensure we are promoting opportunities for each employee to grow within our organization.
