USAT Capacity Solutions Leadership Team

James D. Reed

President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director

Mr. Reed joined USA Truck in November 2016, bringing more than two decades of multi-faceted experience in trucking, logistics, finance and business development. He previously served as chief financial officer of Interstate Distributor Company (an asset-based trucking business), as well as president of its subsidiary, Interstate Distributor Logistics. As Interstate’s CFO, Mr. Reed was responsible for all accounting, financial planning and analysis and IT, and led the company’s strategic planning process. He joined Interstate in 2012 and served for a time as its senior vice president, sales, with full accountability for the company’s revenue growth and strategic account development. Mr. Reed’s extensive experience includes 15 years of leading finance in public companies.

Tim Guin

EVP and Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Guin began his transportation career at Swift Transportation in 1988 where he held various operations positions along with Vice President of National Accounts and Vice President of Sales, Eastern Region until 2006. He recently served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Swift Transportation from 2016 to 2018. From 2006 until 2009, he served as Vice President of Business Development in charge of Mergers and Acquisitions for USX Enterprises. He later became President of Arnold Transportation where he served until 2011. Mr. Guin served on the Board of Directors at Arnold Transportation from 2009 until 2011. He earned a Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Winthrop University.

Zachary King

SVP and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. King has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since April 2020. He joined USA Truck in January 2015 and served as the company’s Assistant Controller until January 2017 and Vice President, Corporate Controller until April 2020. Before joining USA Truck, Mr. King spent seven years in a variety of accounting and finance roles with ABB Ltd., Samson Resources Corporation, and Deloitte. Mr. King earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Central Arkansas. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Kim Littlejohn

Chief Information Officer and SVP, Customer Experience

Ms. Littlejohn joined USA Truck in May 2017 after serving as Director of Information Technology for Interstate Distributor Co., Tacoma, Washington. She also has served as IT director for both Bishop, White, Marshall & Weibel, P.S., and NYK Business Systems Americas Inc. Her career as an IT professional began as a developer with Boeing and then with Security Pacific Bank. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Washington.

Blair Ewell

SVP of Trucking Operations

Blair Ewell joined USA Truck as Senior Vice President of Trucking in August 2019 with over 30 years in Transportation Management. Mr. Ewell began his career in 1986 with Ryder System. In 1989 he served three years with the United States Army Logistics Corp. in support of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He has served in several leadership roles, including VP and terminal manager, and Regional VP of Network for Swift Transportation. He served as COO at Mesilla Valley Transportation, until starting his own consulting business in 2016. Blair most recently served as Executive Vice President of HMD Trucking in Chicago, IL.

George Henry

SVP, Logistics

Mr. Henry joined USA Truck in April 2018 from Knight Transportation, Inc where he served as Vice President of Dedicated. He joined Knight in 2013 as Vice President of Logistics. Prior to joining Knight, he spent 8 years at Transplace in various 3PL and Brokerage Operations roles before being named the Vice President of Capacity Services. George has a Bachelors of Science in Supply Chain, Transportation and Logistics Management from the University of Wales, U.K.

Mike Stephens

SVP, Strategy and Finance

Mr. Stephens joined USA Truck in September of 2017. Before joining USA Truck, he held several finance leadership positions within Swift Transportation based in Phoenix, Arizona. Additionally, he has held several financial leadership positions in small businesses. Mike earned a Bachelor's in Education from Brigham Young University, an MBA specializing in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University, and a Post Baccalaureate certificate in Accountancy from Arizona State University. Mr. Stephens has served on the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) advisory board for 2019-2020.

Todd Davis

VP, USA TRUCK AND PRESIDENT, DAVIS TRANSFER COMPANY

Mr. Davis joined USA Truck as vice president in October 2018 through the acquisition of the premier, high-service, southeast regional carrier, Davis Transfer Company. Mr. Davis brings more than twenty years of experience in the truckload/logistics transportation industry. He serves as president of Davis Transfer Company, Inc. (an asset-based trucking business), and its subsidiary, Davis Transfer Logistics. As president and CEO of Davis Transfer Company, Mr. Davis is responsible for key client relationships, new customer acquisition, and overall strategic direction. Mr. Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in management information systems and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia.

Richard Hainlen

VP, Revenue Operations

A veteran trucking pricing professional Mr. Hainlen joined USA Truck in May 2017. His extensive background in revenue management includes service with Red Classic Transportation Services, where he served as director of yield management and network optimization. He has held similar posts with several carriers, including P.A.M. Transportation, Celadon Group, CFI, and Anderson Trucking Service. Mr. Hainlen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Bethel University.

Jeff Harris

VP, MAINTENANCE

Mr. Harris Joined USA Truck in September 2017 with 30 years of experience in Transportation Maintenance after serving as Regional Director of Maintenance|Central Region at Swift Transportation. Before that role, he was Director of Shop Operations Training and Compliance for Swift Transportation. He was inducted into the Nashville Auto Diesel Hall of fame in 2012. He was elected 2018-2019 ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council General Chairman and Treasurer and was awarded the ATA's Technology & Maintenance Council Silver Spark Plug in 2018.

Allen Lowry

VP, Safety and Risk Management

Mr. Lowry joined USA Truck in July 2017 with more than 25 years of Safety and leadership experience in the transportation industry. He served as Vice President of Safety, Security, OS&D and Risk Management for Navajo Express, Inc. Previous to that position he held numerous leadership roles at Swift Transportation, Inc., Central Refrigerated Service, Inc., and Dick Simon Trucking, Inc. Mr. Lowry is NATMI certified, studied Law at Weber State University, and was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, JAG.

Nick Wakefield

VP, Human Resources, Driver Recruiting, and Retention

Nick Wakefield joined USA Truck in May 2018 from Heartland Express. He began his transportation career at Interstate Distributor Company in 2007, where he held various human resources and operations positions along with Vice President of Customer Service and Vice President of Recruiting & Retention until 2017. His leadership included key talent functions of recruiting, learning, compliance, leadership development, talent management, and strategic workforce planning. Before joining Interstate, he spent fifteen years in operations management roles with Old Navy and Target. Nick has a Bachelor of Arts from Western Washington University and a Masters in Organization Management from the University of Phoenix.
